Rodenstock Heligon 50mm f2 - Photo Set

I really like this Rodenstock Heligon 50mm f2. It's so small, and yet beautiful to look at and take pictures with.  No complains with the optical quality.  Below are few more pictures taken with it.

All pictures below taken with Sony A7 and Rodenstock Heligon 50mm f2:

  1. Seems like it has a lot of the character the Zeiss Biogon, that first shot is amazing.

    1. The Rodenstock Heligon is not as common as the Retina-Xenon 50mm f2. Both are very nice lenses. I will sure keep an eye on if price is good.

    2. is this the deckel mount heligon? i'm a fan. they can be extremely sharp when needed - much like the schneider retinas.

    3. @Anonymous: No, this one has its own shutter and was removed from a folder camera. It's a very sharp lens indeed, even at full aperture.

  3. A lot like that "3d pop" you get from old zeiss lens. Colour and contrast are fantastic too .

  4. Am I right in thinking there are variations of this lens with and without integrated shutter?

    1. I believe there is an M42 version of this lens, but ridiculously expensive.

    2. So finally finished the strip down of the lens. A harrowing experience that will stay with me LOL as I'm not a watchmaker. Disconnected the shutter but still have the aperture working. So far so good. Next the easy part, mount to helicoid :)

      Keep up the inspiring work!!
