Colours!

Itsn't it unbelievable that our digital cameras capture colour images with a black & white sensor?  Ok, cameras using the X3 Foveon sensors are excepted, as it uses a vertical filter on the sensor itself, but majority of digital cameras use a Bayer Array sensor, which was invented by Kodak, and colour is interpolated from the RGBG filter.  Today's Bayer sensors are so good, colour accuracy is truly amazing.  Luckily, we don't have to worry about the technical side of this stuff.  We just point, and click, so to speak.

  2. Hi

I really enjoy your blog. I recently purchased a NEX 5N, and I would lie to try some manual lenses. I like portraits and landscapes. Do you have any suggestions for me. And also do you recommend any stores in Toronto where they have a good selection of used manual focus lenses.

    Thank You

  3. @bvujicic: It's tough to suggest lens without knowing what budget you have in mind. There are so many choices out there with huge price differences.

As for stores with good selection of manual focus lenses, Henry's probably has the most, but they tend to be pricey. You can also try downtown camera (not far from Henry's), but they are also pretty expensive.

  4. Thanks for your reply.

I don't want to spend too much on a lens yet, until I get some practice. The most I would spend would be about $200 per lens.
I have been to a few Henry's and so far only the outlet store carries the older manual focus lenses. I haven't been to the downtown location yet, I guess they must have a better selection
