Sigma E-Mount 19mm f2.8 - Photo Set

The Sigma 19mm f2.8 is a versatile lens. With an equivalent focal length of 28.5mm on the NEX cameras, it's wide enough for most shooting situations, but not so wide that it's hard to control. I have been shooting with it in the last few days, and I quite like it. The only thing that pulls it back is its corners, when compared to the 30mm f2.8. It's not as sharp and the distortion is slightly worse. Nevertheless, this is all forgiven due tot he low price. It's a nice bargain indeed.

  1. as one who always favoured the 24mm and the 50mm on my 35mm film I never had a taste for mild wides like the effect of a 35mm lens. Looking at these images I see I am starting to change.

I like the padlock shot a lot.

    1. The 19mm lens is a compromise between 24mm and 35mm :) For the price, this Sigma lens can't be beat, and it's optically very good. The 30mm f2.8, on the other hand, is superb.

    1. New Sigma lenses are very good. I had a 50mm f1.4 EX for many years and it worked great with comparable results of the Canon 50mm f1.2L.
