My In-Law's Backyard

It's unbelievable how many hours I have spent in my in-law's backyard taking pictures over the last 15 years or so.  Considering that it does not even have a garden, what makes it so attractive to me?  Boredom, really.  We visit the in-laws once a week on the weekends, with very little interruption.  Most days, my kids can hang out with their many cousins, and I usually just go out and take pictures, and in the backyard I spent countless hours, taking mostly close-up pictures of whatever look interesting.  I actually was thinking about making a photobook with the many pictures I took there. Interestingly, I never get bored doing it.  There is always something that I can find worth photographying.

  2. hi! when's your lenses book coming out? maybe another book in the making: backyard photography! most of the time, the everyday, common things photographed in a creative way presents drama most people (including myself) overlook.

    1. I have done choosing the pictures. The book will end up with only cine, enlarging, projection, and a few DIY lenses, and it will be 120 pages. I have left out the "normal" lenses for another project. I am now writing captions for the lenses/pictures. Hopefully it will be done in a couple of weeks. As for the backyard book, I don't think it will be interesting. Too many pictures of the same subject, though lighting is different, but not interesting enough for a book.
