Not it's not sharp like the Canon 35mm f1.4 at f2.8, but totally usable considering the age of the lens. It also depends on what kind of camera you shoot with too. I have...How do you find the sharpness on your copy? I have this lens and it's one of my favourites, if not the favourite lens, but it's not really that sharp at f/2.8. It's OK for close-ups but with infinity or near infinity focus it needs to be stopped down a click or two.
