So, I am pretty sure it was the lens. Have not tried the lens on the other cameras after it healed itself yet. When I read you post, it made me thin...Great news! When I read you post, it made me think of an "issue" I have with my Canon 400mm F/5.6L and how occasionally I need to turn the focusing ring to get the AF to start. I had thought that it was a camera issue as it started to do this when I picked up a used 40D and it did do the same thing with my Canon 70-200mm F/4L, so I am leaning more to a camera issue. My other camera is an aging Canon 20D, so can't really test it with that camera to really narrow down the problem. Looking forward to any updates you may have with the 200mm F/1.8L.
